Fort Beauséjour – Fort Cumberland National Historic Site
This year marks the 250th anniversary of the Eddy Rebellion and the Siege of Fort Cumberland.
In 1776, Colonel Jonathan Eddy led a force of American supporters and local sympathizers, including many acadian and Indigenous fighters, in an attempt to capture Fort Cumberland and spark a wider rebellion during the American Revolution. The month-long siege ended in a British victory, helping shape the region's future for generations.
