The Learn-to Camp program prepares visitors with the skills and experience to fully enjoy nature and the outdoors.

Georges Island National Historic Site

The Learn-to Camp team will be at Georges Island National Historic Site on select Fridays in July and August to run special programming.

  • Come learn about the different species of the island and how we can manage our impact on these special places
  • Join Parks Canada for special games, a treasure hunt, guided tours of the underground tunnels and much more

Halifax Waterfront

Stop by our outreach booth on the Halifax Waterfront just behind the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on select Saturdays in July and August.

  • Learn some camping tips and best practices
  • Interact with our collection of maps, artefacts and animal bones that teach about the life and ecosystems of Sable Island National Park Reserve
  • Have some fun with colouring pages of Parka, the Parks Canada mascot
