Cancellation policy

The last day to cancel is August 14, 2024. (One week prior to the beginning of the event).

Cancellations received more than seven (7) days before the date of the event will be fully refunded. No refund will be issued if you cancel your registration seven (7) days or less before the date of the event.

Weather

The Learn-to Camp evening campfire experience will occur rain or shine and only be cancelled if weather conditions are dangerous. Activities will be moved indoors if there is too much rain. Participants will be contacted at the phone number they provided if we need to cancel.

Overnight camping experiences

Overnight camping experience

Learn-to Camp overnight experiences introduce you and your camping party to the basics of camping. You will learn camping skills like how to set up a tent, light a campfire, cook outdoors with a stove, and pack a cooler. Book your experience in advance!

$80.25 for the first person in the group/family per tent

$20.25 for each additional person in the group/family 7 years +

What to bring

  • Sleeping bags (sleeping bags are NOT provided. Please ensure you have one for each member of your group)
  • Pillow
  • Suitable, comfortable clothing for the outdoors (remember that it can be cool at night so bring a variety of clothing so that you will be able to layer for warmth)
  • Pyjamas
  • Rain gear
  • Comfortable and supportive shoes (you will be involved in many different activities, so be prepared to be on your feet)
  • Bug spray
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottles
  • Meals (dinner on Saturday and breakfast Sunday) and snacks
  • Whatever pots and pans you need to cook your meals
  • One cup, one bowl, one plate, one fork, one spoon, one knife PER PERSON
  • A hat to protect you from the sun
  • Personal toiletries
  • Any personal medication
  • Items for young children (bottles, diapers, etc.), toys and books for the kids
  • Your health card
  • Flash light and/or headlamp

Explore a present-day camping demonstration next to 18th and early 19th century military encampments. From tents and bedding to cooking outside, experience first-hand how overnights under the stars have changed over time.

Test your camping skills with hands-on rope tying activities, watch historic and modern stove demonstrations, and learn fun packing tips and tricks for your next outdoor adventure.
