What is a bioblitz?
A bioblitz is a community science activity held outdoors where participants record as many species as possible (animals, plants, insects, etc.) within a short period of time. It is a fun and educational activity where participants team up with scientists to discover nature and contribute to its conservation.

Visit of the bird banding station
Observe birds up close at the Forillon bird banding station operated by the Observatoire d'oiseaux de Rimouski, a scientific partner of Forillon National Park. During this activity, learn about birds, their habitats, migration patterns and feeding habits. You'll also discover how bird monitoring is conducted and learn about bird banding techniques. Your guide can also help you submit your observations using the iNaturalist mobile app. This bilingual activity is suitable for the whole family. Reservations are recommended, but places may be available at the last minute.
Activity times: 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.

Accompanied by a park guide, discover the fascinating connections between living organisms and their habitats in the beaver ponds area. Enjoy this invigorating nature walk and learn all about the park’s forest and freshwater ecosystems. With its diverse range of habitats, this is the perfect place for a bioblitz… and to add your observations to iNaturalist!

Guided birding walk
Walk the Du Banc Trail with an experienced ornithologist from the Observatoire d'oiseaux de Rimouski (Rimouski Bird Observatory). Observe birds and their habitats, then submit your observations via the iNaturalist mobile app. You’ll walk through a forest, along a small marsh, and stop at the beach to watch seabirds. The diversity of habitats makes this area an excellent spot for a Bioblitz. You’ll likely see much more than just birds!

Run through trails ranging from 1 km to 164 km between sea and mountains. You'll cross landscapes of great natural and cultural beauty within a national park setting. Take part in stage races spread over two days.
Your first experience at Pace du Bonheur!
We are happy to collaborate with Pace du Bonheur to allow as many people as possible to have a positive first trail running experience. All our courses of 24 kilometers and less are exempt from time barriers, allowing you to discover and enjoy the world-renowned landscapes of Forillon!
The starting point for the Ultra Trail Forillon is at Grande-Grave, in the South area of the park. The trails follow landscapes of great diversity: they cross forests and ridges, skirt coves and lakes, traverse streams and heritage sites. Wildlife is also present in this national park: stay alert!
