Smoking and vaping restrictions

What: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following activities are prohibited by order of the Superintendent:

Smoking and vaping of all substances, including tobacco and cannabis.

Where: 

• Within 20m of playgrounds and public buildings, including all washroom facilities, all picnic shelters, the Visitor Center at Mallorytown Landing, the playground at Mallorytown Landing, the Recreation Hall at Landons Bay, the playground at Landons Bay and the Pool at Landons Bay. 
  
• Inside oTENTik accommodations
  

Exception: Smoking and vaping is permitted in leased campsite areas outside of the oTENTik structures.

Why: To protect the public from second-hand smoke and enhance the safety and enjoyment of these public areas. 

Note: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act.
