Discovery of HMS Investigator

Parks Canada discovered the wreck of HMS Investigator in 2010 using side-scan sonar; it was found quickly and is well preserved in cold Arctic waters. The site was surveyed by underwater archaeologists the following year in 2011.

McClure’s Cache is located within Aulavik National Park on the shore of Mercy Bay. The wreck is located within the bay, just outside the park boundary.
