Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site

Kejimkujik has two locations in the South Shore region of Nova Scotia: inland and seaside. They are 1-hour apart, and a 2-hour drive from Halifax and the airport.

Kejimkujik is open year-round; services vary. Plan to spend a full day or several days at the inland park hiking, biking, and paddling. Camping is available from May to October. Admission is charged.

Kejimkujik Seaside is a day-use park. Admission is free.  Camping is available nearby at Thomas Raddall Provincial Park. Plan to spend a half or full-day exploring the trails and beach.

Fall, winter and spring

From November to Victoria Day weekend, most facilities and services are closed.

  • Trails are open but not maintained or patrolled, and the floating bridge at Jakes Landing is removed for the season
  • The campground and backcountry close for the season on October 31 – no overnight stays are permitted until spring 2026
