Description

Join a Parks Canada interpreter/visual artist for a unique “En Plein Air” watercolour painting experience in beautiful Kejimkujik. Supplied with a "Beam Paints" watercolour sample card, brushes and watercolour paper, participants will experience the natural/cultural environment as artists.

• No experience required — beginners are welcome!

Accessibility considerations

Distance from parking lot and description of route

• 150 metres from the Merrymakedge parking lot P4 to Etli-Mawita'mk: The Gathering Place
• The path is paved and even for part of the way from the parking lot to the middle
• The rest of the path is not paved, but it is a groomed path with a semi-hard base made of pine needles

Program location and seating

• Start: The program begins with a short presentation at Etli-Mawita'mk: The Gathering Place
• Seating options include: benches, camp chairs, hard-back chairs, picnic tables and yoga mats
• Participants will choose a location nearby for their painting
• This area of Merrymakedge includes: private beach, Parks Canada red chairs and forest
• The instructor will visit participants to provide one-on-one support
• End: The program ends with everyone back at Etli-Mawita'mk: The Gathering Place

Equipment

• One medium-sized all-terrain wheelchair is available to borrow at the Visitor Centre, free of charge, first come, first served

Sound and sensory

• Outdoors, with the possible option of going inside during inclement weather
• Visitors may see a squirrel that is currently nesting in the building
