Kouchibouguac National Park
Summer
Summer equipment rentals
Please note this important change: Bicycle, canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals will not be available in 2026.
Ryans Equipment Rental Centre will remain closed for the 2026 season as efforts to secure a third-party operator have been unsuccessful.
The docks will be installed at Ryans for visitors who wish to use their own kayaks, canoes or paddleboards, and the washrooms will be open.
Remember to stay within the barrier islands to avoid dangerous currents when using watercrafts in the park’s lagunes and rivers. Visitors who don’t have their own bicycles, kayaks or canoes, can still enjoy the magic and tranquility of the Kouchibouguac River on foot via the Kouchibouguac River Trail, explore our other numerous hiking trails, or take part in our interpretive programs to discover the park from a different perspective!
Winter
Winter equipment rentals
Equipment rentals are available at the Pijeboogwek shelter during the winter months.
Located across the road from the Visitor Information Centre, Pijeboogwek is the hub for winter activities in the park, as well as the starting point for many of our cycling paths. Please refer to our Hours of operation page for a complete list of operating dates and hours.
Visitors can choose between fat bikes, complete cross-country ski outfits, cross-country skis, boots, poles and snowshoes. The equipment is available for rent per hour, for a half day or full day. Quantities are limited. Call ahead to inquire about availability and pricing: 506 876 2443. Reservations are recommended for fat bikes and large groups.
