Southwest Arm Trail

Starting from the Southwest Arm Brook Day Use Area (along TransCanada Highway), wander along the banks of the brook through a mature forest. Listen to the rushing brook as you wind your way through the moss carpeted forest. Cross the suspension bridge and snake through the forest towards the tranquil waters of Southwest Arm. There is a lot of beaver activity on this trail, you may see the stumps of trees that have been cut down by a beaver and you should see beaver dam once you reach the water. If you are lucky you might catch sight of a beaver at work. This trail is exceptional in the fall when the trees start to change color.

Or you different experience start from the Southwest Arm Day Use Area and do this trail in reverse! Backcountry camp in Southwest Arm and watch the sun rise over Malady Head. (Link to: http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/nl/terranova/activ/featured%20activities/southest.aspx)
