Resident Passes for Residents of Field and Lake Louise
Resident passes are available to eligible residents residing in the park.
A resident whose primary employment is located in the park is considered an “eligible resident”.
Resident passes are valid from January 1 to December 31 annually.
Once a complete application has been submitted, applicants will be notified via email when their resident pass is available for pick up.
Please note: Individuals working in the park but living outside of its boundaries may obtain a vehicle work pass. Your employer must request a vehicle work pass on your behalf.
Picking up in Lake Louise
Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm (6 pm from June 6 to September 22) at the Lake Louise Visitor Center, 201 Village Road.
Closed on statutory holidays, December 23-27, 2026 and January 1, 2027.
Picking up in Field
Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 12 pm, and 1 pm to 4:30 pm at the Field Townsites office, 200 Kicking Horse Ave.

Information collected in this process is used for the administration of the Resident and Work Park Pass Program.
The information you provide is collected under the authority of section 8 of the Canada National Parks Act to support and manage program activities related to service delivery for townsite management including the evaluation of application, issuing and administering the permit, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and permit conditions as well as the delivery of essential municipal services such as water, wastewater, roads, and community infrastructures. It also ensures that Parks Canada meets his mandate to main the ecological and commemorative integrity of the surrounding national parks, ensuring that development and municipal services are delivered responsibly and in alignment with federal requirements.
The information you provide may be shared with internally within Parks Canada only to the extent necessary to support community functionality within townsites for the purpose of supporting and managing program activities related to service delivery for townsite management.
