Access and entry into the Walcott Quarry and talus slope is prohibited.

WHERE: Yoho National Park
This area is indicated in red on the attached map and is legally described as within the UTM Zone 11N coordinates 536194m E 5699315m N to 536592m E 5699456m N to 537011m E 5698514m N to 536517m E 5698418m N.

Information about registered Guided Hikes may be obtained from the Visitor Information Centre in Field.

WHY: Protection of Burgess Shale fossils. 

PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
