WHAT: Under the authority of the Haida Nation and the Government of Canada through the Archipelago Management Board (AMB), pursuant to Section 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations and the inherent responsibility of the Haida Nation to protect the lands and waters of Haida Gwaii, the following area in Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, National Marine Conservation Area Reserve, and Haida Heritage Site is closed to all public access:

WHERE: the Huxley Island Operations Station. Please pefer to the attached Closure Map 1 for details.

WHY: To protect the public from hazards associated with a landslide at this facility, including unstable infrastructure and unstable soil and vegetation.

WHEN: From November 5 2024 until further notice.

PENALTY: Contravention of this order may result in a fine or court appearance under the Canada National Parks Act or pursuant Regulations.
