Trans-Canada Highway - pavement resurfacing through snowsheds

This summer, pavement resurfacing will take place through the snowsheds east of Rogers Pass. Work will include the replacement of concrete barriers adjacent to the new pavement to further enhance highway safety. Reduced speed zones will be in effect as well as short delays while single lane alternating traffic is in effect through the snowsheds. Work is expected to start in early August.

Trans-Canada Highway – avalanche mitigations

Work will continue on multiple avalanche mitigation projects along the Rogers Pass corridor from mid-July to August 2022, including the inspection, maintenance and re-tensioning of snownets on Cougar Mountain and repairs to snowsheds and snowshed lighting. Motorists should expect reduced speed limits in work zones, and occasional short delays for the movement of heavy equipment.

Giant Cedars Boardwalk

Giant Cedars Boardwalk sustained significant damage this winter due to heavy snowfall and falling trees. Unfortunately the boardwalk must remain closed this year while structural assessments take place. The picnic area and washrooms at this location will open on a date to be determined.
