Glacier National Park
Infrastructure improvements are taking place in Mount Revelstoke and Glacier national parks. To help you plan ahead, check the map for ongoing projects that may impact your visit.
Starting in April 2021, the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy. 1) will have scheduled closures at Golden B.C., east of Mount Revelstoke and Glacier national parks due to scheduled highway improvements. Both parks remain open to visitors. Visit the Kicking Horse Canyon Project for more information.

Trans-Canada Highway snowshed maintenance
Starting in June, column repairs and lighting maintenance will take place in the snowsheds. Expect possible single lane alternating traffic 5am-9am Monday to Thursday.
Trans-Canada Highway repaving
Short sections of highway repaving and spray patching will occur at various places along Highway 1. Expect short delays with single lane alternating traffic. The day-use area at Giant Cedars will also be repaved during the coming summer season and not require a closure of the area.
East Gate landslide maintenance
Beginning in July, work will continue in the east gate landslide area. Additional landslide flow check dams are being installed to prevent impacts to the Trans-Canada Highway. Short delays to traffic are possible.
Trans-Canada Highway rock scaling
Rock-scaling will begin in September throughout Mount Revelstoke and Glacier national parks. Expect 15 min road closures during blasting and clean-up operations.
