Parks Canada is bringing the mountains to your classroom!
Join us for exciting virtual education programs, live from Banff and the other mountain national parks. Each program shares a unique story and will give you a look behind the scenes at these amazing places with Parks Canada experts. These fun and interactive presentations explore a variety of topics including wildlife conservation, archaeological history, protecting at-risk species and more!
All programs are free and appropriate for ages 6-12.

A Beary, Berry Good Day
Ages 4 to 8
30 minutes
Discover the story of Ursa, a young grizzly bear in Banff National Park. This engaging illustrated storybook reading is paired with a talk about how we know what is a pet and what is a wild animal. Kids will learn the #WildlifeRules that help humans and wild animals to share this special place, and pledge the “Bear Care Swear” to become honorary Wildlife Guardians.

Mountains 101
Mountains 101: a free online learning experience
Parks Canada is proud to partner with the University of Alberta, a leader in education and research, to support Mountains 101: Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) that will provide a comprehensive overview of mountain studies. This program will inspire Canadians to learn and explore Canada’s mountain heritage throughout the country (including mountain national parks) and to understand how Parks Canada protects, conserves and shares these special places.

Through partner initiatives such as this, Parks Canada encourages more Canadians, including youth and newcomers, to experience the outdoors and learn about our environment and history right from their own homes. We are proud of our partnership with the University of Alberta on this fascinating course and hope to inspire interest and excitement for national parks and sites across the country.

Visit the Mountains of Change Online Exhibit
Welcome to the mountain national parks in Canada —a landscape in transition because of climate change.
In this science-based online exhibit, you will discover the impacts of climate change in the mountain national parks in Canada, how Parks Canada is responding, and how protected areas and healthy ecosystems can offer “natural solutions” to climate change.
This Parks Canada web exhibit is hosted on Google Arts & Culture. To check out the original non-digital Mountains of Change exhibit, visit Banff Park Museum National Historic Site, the oldest natural history museum in western Canada, located in downtown Banff.
