After resting for more than 200 years at the bottom of the Restigouche estuary, the wreck of the The Machault has finally revealed its secrets.

Discovering the remains of the Machault

Thanks to the underwater excavations carried out from 1969 to 1972, a vast collection of objects was unearthed. These artefacts contributed to the advancement of knowledge about the battle as well as the commercial exchanges maintained by the metropolis and the colony at that time.
