Passages, experiences of this island
Deployed in the completely renewed barracks, the new exhibition entitled Passages, experiences of this island offers the story of the great history of the small island of Noix. This exhibition highlights the human occupation of the island from 6000 years ago to this day. In addition to a rich content filled with stories of all kinds, the exhibition also showcases the rich archaeological collection of the site. The most beautiful artifacts are presented in an attractive and inventive way.
The main purpose of the dormitory, located on the second floor of the barracks, is to illustrate, somewhat like a three-dimensional painting, the life of the soldiers and their families in garrison at Fort Lennox, around 1833-1835.
It was during this period that all these people - sergeants, soldiers, women and children - slept, ate and had fun in the barracks.
