Location(s): Lachine Canal National Historic Site
Cost: Free

Parks Canada welcomes you at Hangar 1825 of the Lachine canal for an evening of short films screening in partnership with Wapikoni.

Program

Wapikoni celebrates its 20th anniversary with the "Atasokewen- Nos histoires" program featuring significant films from the past twenty years. These works highlight the creativity of the filmmakers and their perspectives on their reality and culture. Special attention has been given to the impact of these works on the filmmakers' journeys and on both Indigenous and non-Indigenous audiences. The stories and voices of the First Peoples will continue to resonate for a long time to come.

Wapikoni ambassador Xan Choquet, an Innu from Mashteuiatsh, will be present to introduce the films. Afterwards, you'll have the opportunity to ask him questions to deepen your understanding of the themes addressed and to raise your awareness of Indigenous issues and realities.

The activity starts at 7 p.m.. The event will be held rain or shine. We recommend that visitors bring their own chairs to fully enjoy the activity. Learn more about Wapikoni and its mission
