A Superintendent's notice is a formal, legally binding directive issued by the Superintendent.

Notice of prohibition: Drone use prohibited

Effective date:

Until further notice.

Prohibited activities:

Pursuant to 12(1) of the National Historic Parks General Regulations, the following activity is hereby PROHIBITED, by order of the Field Unit Superintendent, Mainland Nova Scotia Field Unit.

It is prohibited to: 

Operate an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV or drone). 

Where:

Fort Anne and Charles Fort National Historic Sites of Canada.

Why:

To preserve the integrity of the park, minimize disturbance to visitors and enhance the enjoyment of the sites.

Note:

It is an offence under the Canada National Parks Act to contravene these prohibitions. Violators may be charged.

It is prohibited to:

Operate a metal detector.

Where:

Fort Anne and Charles Fort National Historic Sites of Canada.

Why:

To preserve the integrity of the park, minimize disturbance to visitors and enhance the enjoyment of the sites.

Note:

It is an offence under the Canada National Parks Act to contravene these prohibitions. Violators may be charged.
