Fort Anne National Historic Site
The province of Nova Scotia owes its name, flag, and coat of arms to the early Scottish settlement at Charles Fort (1629-1632). The remains of Charles Fort lie beneath Fort Anne. Charles Fort is located in Mi'kmaki, the traditional lands of the Mi'kmaq.

Designation
