The 300th anniversary of the signing of the Peace and Friendship Treaty of 1726

Come celebrate Canada Day at Fort Anne and Port-Royal National Historic Sites!

Engage all your senses — sing “O Canada” as you proudly watch the flag raised at Town Hall; join Parks Canada’s mascot, Parka the beaver, in the procession to the fort; enjoy a piece of cake; set out your blanket for a picnic and enjoy the musical entertainment. The Annapolis Basin Community Band will provide music, weather permitting. A fun-filled day for the whole family.
Port-Royal: 1 pm to 3 pm
The festivities continue in the afternoon at Port-Royal — Parks Canada’s first major reconstructed site! Enjoy a slice of cake and tour the oldest permanent European settlement north of Saint Augustine, Florida.

Historic Graveyard Tour
Location(s): Fort Anne National Historic SiteThe tour is offered on select dates from July to August.
A 19th-century mourner sets the mood for seasonal tours in the Fort Anne Garrison Graveyard. Examine some of the gravestones and learn more about the lives and customs of the people who shaped Fort Anne and the region.
Presented by The Historical Association of Annapolis Royal.

Massed Band concert at Fort Anne

Day of Commemoration of the Great Upheaval at Fort Anne

Encampment Days on Natal Day weekend at Fort Anne
Location(s): Fort Anne National Historic SiteFriday, July 31 (evening) to Sunday, August 2 at noon
Stroll around the encampment of the 84th Regiment of Foot 2nd Battalion (Royal Highland Emigrants) and enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds of black powder musketry, outdoor cooking, and life in an 18th century military camp. The 84th Regiment creates a vivid picture of the conditions of centuries-old military life.
Saturday, August 1, from 2 pm to 3 pm (weather permitting)
A tactical battle features 18th century military techniques.

Natal Day at Fort Anne

After the parade, join us at 2 pm in Fort Anne’s parking lot to take a closer look at the handiwork involved in creating these colourful displays. Who will be this year’s float winners? Don’t miss the excitement!

Celebrate National Acadian Day at Fort Anne
Time: 10:00 AM - 01:00 PMLocation(s): Fort Anne National Historic SiteJoin l’Association Francophone de la Vallée for the raising of the Acadian flag and celebrate National Acadian Day at Fort Anne National Historic Site. Visitors are invited to discover the rich heritage and culture of the Acadian people by visiting the exhibits inside Fort Anne’s Officers’ Quarters Museum, or by signing up for the Acadian Guided Tour of the site. Flag raising, presentations and the singing of Ave Marie Stella start at 2 pm.

The Fort-to-Fort Experience
Location(s): Fort Anne National Historic Site | Port-Royal National Historic SiteGet ready for a fun challenge with the return of the Fort-to-Fort Experience! Walk, run or cycle the 25 km round-trip route from Fort Anne National Historic Site in Annapolis Royal to the Habitation at Port-Royal National Historic Site in Port-Royal. An optional return shuttle is available from Port-Royal if needed. This event will happen rain or shine.

Commemorating the Great Upheaval
Time: 01:30 PM - 02:00 PMLocation(s): Fort Anne National Historic SiteOn December 8, 1755, 1664 Acadians were deported from Annapolis Royal.
The "Association des Familles Acadiennes de Port-Royal" will be holding a walk at Fort Anne National Historic Site on December 8, 2025, to observe a moment of silence in remembrance of this tragic event.
The walk will begin at 1:30 pm at the Odyssey Monument at Fort Anne and proceed to the end of the Queen's Wharf.
