  • Celebrate National Acadian Day at Fort Anne

    Join l’Association Francophone de la Vallée for the raising of the Acadian flag and celebrate National Acadian Day at Fort Anne National Historic Site. Visitors are invited to discover the rich heritage and culture of the Acadian people by visiting the exhibits inside Fort Anne’s Officers’ Quarters Museum, or by signing up for the Acadian Guided Tour of the site.

    11 am: Celebration begins

    11:30 am: Welcome message

    Noon: Lunch of submarine sandwiches (Registration is required in advance to reserve a meal)

    1 pm: Flag raising and Ave Maris Stella singing

    Musical performance by Cindy LeBlanc, Wilfred Boudreau and Desire LeBlanc

  • The Fort-to-Fort Experience

    Location(s): Fort Anne National Historic Site | Port-Royal National Historic Site

    Get ready for a fun challenge with the return of the Fort-to-Fort Experience! Walk, run or cycle the 25 km round-trip route from Fort Anne National Historic Site in Annapolis Royal to the Habitation at Port-Royal National Historic Site in Port-Royal. An optional return shuttle is available from Port-Royal if needed. This event will happen rain or shine.

  • Nova Hollandia Reenactment

    Location(s): Fort Anne National Historic Site

    Join Nova Hollandia Reenactment at Fort Anne National Historic Site, to mark the founding of the first English speaking colony in mainland Canada – the Anglo-Scottish settlement of Charles Fort. Although this settlement only lasted 3 years (1629-1632), it would shape the future of both province and nation, and was given a name that would endure across the centuries: Nova Scotia.

    They will be delving into the the lives of these intrepid settlers, showcasing day-to-day skills such as period cooking and handicrafts, as well as discussing the arms and armour of the fledgling colony.

  • Commemorating the Great Upheaval

    On December 8, 1755, 1664 Acadians were deported from Annapolis Royal.

    The "Association des Familles Acadiennes de Port-Royal" will be holding a walk at Fort Anne National Historic Site on December 8, 2025, to observe a moment of silence in remembrance of this tragic event.

    The walk will begin at 1:30 pm at the Odyssey Monument at Fort Anne and proceed to the end of the Queen's Wharf.
