Fort St. James National Historic Site
Phase 2 of consultation on the draft management plan
Over the summer and early fall we heard from Indigenous partners, local residents, site visitors, and local stakeholders on the draft management plan.
- All feedback received will be considered in finalising the new management plan for the site.
- Parks Canada will report what was heard throughout the consultation process.
- The final management plan will be reviewed and approved by the Parks Canada President and CEO.
A new management plan for the site
Parks Canada has developed a draft management plan for Fort St. James National Historic Site, guided by input received in the first phase of consultation in 2022 from Indigenous partners, members of the public and stakeholder organisations.
The draft management plan will be further refined following a second phase of Indigenous, public and stakeholder consultation. This second phase of consultation has now closed.

The last management plan for the site was approved in December 2013. The plan was developed through input from the public and from Indigenous peoples, and has guided Parks Canada in its work on the site over the last 10 years.
