Mary Travers, dite La Bolduc (1894-1941)

Mary Travers, a singer-songwriter who went by the name of her husband (Édouard Bolduc), had a tremendous impact on Quebec popular culture. From 1929 to 1939, she recorded close to 100 songs that she had composed herself. La Bolduc's novel approach to current events, social conditions and male-female relationships, combined with her unique singing style, swept her to the heights of stardom. Her impact was reinforced through several tours in Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and the northern New England states.
