Paddle the Nipigon River with Parks Canada in a 26-foot voyageur canoe and see for yourself what makes this river so special. Rich in history, the Nipigon River continues to be an important place for the people, plants and animals that call it home. Along the way, learn what defines a National Marine Conservation Area, and why protecting Lake Superior matters.

Details
• Please register at least 30 minutes before your desired start time.
• Minimum 2 participants; maximum 8 participants.
• For comfort and safety, group size may be adjusted based on participants’ size and seating space.

To book in advance, please provide the following:

  • Total number of participants
  • Preferred date and time

Note: You will be contacted to confirm your booking. If you haven’t heard from us at least a day before your desired date/time, please call us.

Participants must:

  • be able to remain seated for up to 1 hour
  • be able to paddle for a significant portion of the program duration (exceptions may be made, but must be balanced with overall ability of crew to power the canoe)
  • be able to board the canoe unassisted
  • weigh at least 22.5 kg / 50 lbs to properly wear an approved PFD
