Western Arctic Field Unit is seeking a positive and energetic individual to join our management team. In this pivotal role, you will be the cornerstone of our employee and management support system, providing comprehensive HR services that are as diverse as the places we protect and present.

Work Location: Inuvik, NT

Term: Approximately August, 2026 - August, 2027 – 1 year with possibility of extension

Annual Salary: $90,894 - $101.829

PLUS an additional approximately $35,029 (employee with dependents) or $21,056 (single employee) in applicable Isolated Post Allowances

EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post- secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed;

OR

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable experience in human resources.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in providing operational services or strategic advice to clients relating to staffing and resourcing, and in at least one (1) of the following areas: Labour Relations, Human Resources Planning, Classification and Organizational Design, or Learning and Development
• Experience in providing operational or strategic advice, guidance and recommendations to management on complex or sensitive human resources issues
• Experience in mentoring and coaching supervisors, managers and employees
• Experience in preparing a variety of professional communications products such as messages to staff, presentations or written reports

GEOMATICS TECHNICIAN

This position supports Parks Canada’s Western Arctic operations by providing geomatics services such as mapping, spatial analysis, and data management for various programs. It involves both office-based GIS work and extensive summer fieldwork in remote national parks, including helping plan multi-day trips. This role is may also include emergency response support through a duty officer program.

Work Location: Inuvik, NT

Term: Approximately September 2026 – March 2027
– 6 months with possibility of extension

Annual Salary: $71,741 - $90,184 (salary under review)

PLUS an additional approximately $35,029 (employee with dependants) or $21,056 (single employee) in applicable Isolated Post Allowances

Education

An acceptable combination of two years post-secondary program, training and experience in a field related to the position

Experience

• Experience acquiring, organizing, storing, processing, analyzing, and disseminating geospatial data in a variety of formats
• Experience troubleshooting geomatics implementations
• Experience creating high-quality cartographic products, such as maps and charts for reports, presentations and public use using GIS (ESRI ArcGIS), as well as word processing, spreadsheet and database programs (e.g. MS Office)

Work in remote northern landscapes conducting hands-on environmental fieldwork, travelling by helicopter, canoe, and on foot to reach research sites. Collect environmental samples, apply scientific methods, and manage field data while working with a collaborative team and connecting with Northern and Indigenous communities.

Annual Salary:

Resource Management Technician (EG-02) - $59,291 - $74,534 (salary under review)

Resource Management Officer (EG-03) - $65,216 - $81,985 (salary under review)

The successful candidate will provide essential financial and administrative support to our Parks Canada team.

Work location – Inuvik, NT

Term: Approximately September, 2026 - March, 2027 – 6 months with possibility of extension

Annual Salary – $61,980 - $74,408 (salary under review) PLUS an additional approximately $35,029(employee with dependents) or $21,056(single employee) in applicable Isolated Post Allowances
