Tree maintenance – Central, Northeast and Harvest trails

Issued: March 18, 2024

Ends: April 30, 2024

Please be advised that Parks Canada will undertake work to trim and prune trees, shrubs and vegetation bordering Central, Northeast and Harvest trails to facilitate regular trail maintenance during the peak operating season.

Work is expected to get underway on Tuesday March 19 and take approximately six weeks to complete.

Access to trails is expected to remain open, however, visitors may be temporarily re-routed around sections of trail where work is being carried out during regular business hours on weekdays.

Visitors are asked to respect signage, comply with the direction of on-site staff, keep a safe distance from maintenance crews and onsite equipment and be aware of minor disturbances such as noise.

All Parks Canada projects are subject to environmental assessments to ensure appropriate ecological protection measures are in place. Work will be completed outside of the bird nesting season to protect migratory birds and wildlife. Removed branches will be chipped or left in the work area to retain biomass and to prevent any spread of invasive species such as the Emerald Ash Borer.
