Student Employment

SU-02 - Student Heritage Presenter
Responsible for learning and delivering education programs, presenting interpretive demonstrations, leading guided tours, assisting with the development and presentation of special events, acting as ambassador for the site (both on-site and off-site), working on the site's point of sale system as well as other related activities.

SU-03 - Student Visitor Facilities Attendant
Cleans and maintains visitor facilities and grounds including washrooms, reception centres, campsites and picnic areas. Daily tasks may include cleaning, litter pick-up, emptying trash or recycling bins. It also involves interaction with park visitors to provide basic information and direction.

SU-04 - Student Visitor Services Attendant
Greeting visitors, issuing entry passes and collecting fees at visitor centres, entry gates, day use areas and retail locations, to enhance visitor experience. This includes providing comprehensive information to the visiting public on a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to: campgrounds, trails, points of interest, safety, wilderness travel, park regulations and policies, selling a variety of passes, and properly accounting for revenue received.

Visitor Facilities Attendant

Are you someone who takes pride in presenting a clean space? Do you enjoy spending time outdoors? Are you the clean one in the family? Visitor Facilities Attendants play a very important role in Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park.
They are tasked with cleaning and maintaining Parks Canada Agency buildings, facilities, and grounds in all areas of our Parks. Facility Attendants typically work in a team during the peak season, however, those that work earlier or later in the season may have some more independent work.
The right people to fill these positions are going the extra mile to contribute to creating memorable experiences for visitors. As a presence in all regions of the park, Facilities Attendants have the opportunity to interact with visitors and answer inquires, provide direction, and represent the Parks Canada Agency at all times in addition to their routine cleaning and maintenance duties.

The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Cleaning floors, windows, bathrooms, composting toilets;
  • Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles;
  • Cleaning equipment; and
  • Performing minor repairs.
Visitor Services Attendant II

Parks Canada is seeking a dynamic individual with strong customer service skills for the Visitor Services Attendant II position at Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park. Excellence in visitor experience is a highlight in the position. The Visitor Services Attendant will greet visitors and support a quality visitor experience by providing park information and orientation to park facilities, services, and programs; respond to visitor needs and complaints; preform routine cleaning and maintenance services of grounds and facilities. Responsibilities will also include working with the Point-of-Sale system to sell products and collect fees. Visitor Services Attendants may provide first aid and/or assistance to visitors or staff, may demonstrate tasks to volunteers and students. Respond to general inquiries, direct visitors to sources of information, and direct visitor complaints. Remain attentive to park conditions to detect incidents and undesirable situations (i.e.: inappropriate visitor behavior). Report situations to park authorities; advise visitors and assist with possible solutions (i.e.: friendly reminders, formal notices); record and document incidents. Register, process, and issue permits; record and compile statistical data; use computer and reservation system.

Maintenance Worker I

Join our team at Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park! We are looking for dedicated individuals to help maintain our beautiful parks. You'll be involved in general maintenance, repairs, and cleaning tasks to keep our facilities in top shape for over 500,000 annual visitors.

Duties

  • Perform general maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Clean and maintain campsites, washrooms, and other facilities.
  • Operate and maintain equipment like chainsaws, tractors, and ATVs.
