Partners

The Friends of Keji Cooperating Association is made up of a knowledgeable pool of people willing to share their expertise for the betterment of Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site. They provide Kejimkujik NP & NHS a voice of support, and some hands-on and financial assistance for complementary services and activities to visitors.

Anyone can become a member of the Friends of Keji Cooperating Association. Membership provides a valuable financial contribution to the Friends of Keji, to help assist with the protection and preservation of Kejimkujik National Park.

Founded in 1868, The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) is Canada's leading astronomy organization bringing together over 4,200 enthusiastic amateurs, educators and professionals. As a charitable organization, the RASC is devoted to advancing astronomy and supporting local programs for public education and outreach - promoting science literacy and astronomy. The various committees of the Society support astronomical education, light-pollution abatement, observing and the publication of internationally respected astronomical works. Through collaboration with RASC, Parks Canada was proud to welcome Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site as the 12th Dark Sky Preserve in Canada. This Dark Sky Preserve is an area designated by the RASC that controls light pollution and offers public observing sites for quality night sky viewing.

Parks Canada and Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University (NSCADU) have forged a partnership to build on the pilot project initiated in 2012 to connect art students with national parks in Nova Scotia. This partnership strives to inspire artwork which will be shown and be shared with Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) residents and Canadians thereby creating new opportunities for Canadians to connect with art and national parks and national historic sites.
