Two brand new tiny cabins are available at Cape Breton Highlands National Park’s newest campground, Mkwesaqtuk/-Cap-Rouge. Discover the charm of the tiny cabins nestled between the mountains and the sea, overlooking the Gulf of St Lawrence. Parks Canada's newest accommodation option offers a cozy retreat for friends, families with young children, and couples of all ages. Experience the joy of camping without the hassle of tent setup.
Each cottage has an interior space of 5 m by 3.5 m, which represents an area of 19.5 m2. This space is complemented by a welcoming 23 m2 covered porch—perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or sharing stories under the stars. Embrace the beauty of nature and make unforgettable memories at Mkwesaqtuk/Cap-Rouge, where adventure and relaxation await everyone!
Tiny cabins are available at sites #16 & #32. Both campsites are walk-in, with #32 being accessible and a short walk from parking space.

What to bring

- Sleeping bags, blankets and pillows (extra warm blankets and sleeping bags are recommended in spring and fall)
- Food, drinks and a water container (campground water is potable)
- Cooking equipment; dishes, eating utensils, a cooler
- Flashlights, matches or a lighter to start barbeque and fire outdoor, camping chairs, and slippers or indoor shoes to help keep a clean cabin.
Rules
- Smoking or vaping is not permitted within the accommodation.
- Pets are not permitted inside the Tiny Cabin
- Cooking is permitted only in kitchen shelters or outside the Tiny Cabin.
- Campground rules apply to Tiny Cabin occupants.
- Don't Move Firewood - Use local firewood and burn it on site.
