Background
The first winter carnival was held on February 15, 2025. An estimated 400-500 people participated throughout the day. Kouchibouguac National Park worked with local not-for-profit organizations and businesses to offer a wide range of activities including a cross-country ski relay race, winter dog harness sports workshop and demonstration, guided snowshoe walks, stargazing, Mi’gmaw Storytelling, live music, and food. Parks Canada granted free entry to the park on this date, though certain activities were fee-based.Carnival date

Objectives
The primary objective of the winter carnival is to promote the park and its winter activities, while building strong relationships with neighboring communities.
What we are seeking
- Expressions of interest from local not-for-profit organizations and/or businesses interested in leading activities or providing entertainment for a public audience as part of Kouchibouguac National Park’s winter carnival.
- Expressions of interest from certified food vendors interested in serving food on site.
- Activities between 45-90 minutes in duration.
- Preference for activities that can be led in both official languages
- Preference for outdoor activities, indoor space is limited.
What we can offer
- Provision of support for logistical and operational requirements associated with running the activity.
- General event promotion, including a profile on social media of your activity and organization or business.
Evaluation Criteria
- Preference for local organizations within Kent County, though other proposals will be considered.
- Preference for activities that align with Parks Canada’s mandate to protect and present nationally significant examples of Canada's natural and cultural heritage, and foster public understanding, appreciation and enjoyment in ways that ensure the ecological and commemorative integrity of these places for present and future generations.
- Preference for activities led in a spirit of truth and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
- Ensuring that the full program of carnival activities caters to a wide range of interests and audiences.
- Preference for activities that are conducted in both official languages.
- Preference for low-cost activities or activities that can be provided to the public free of charge.

Your email should clearly state the following:
- Your name, affiliated organization or business, and contact info.
- A description of the proposed activity.
- Estimated length of the proposed activity.
- Costs associated with leading the activity that you wish to have reimbursed, and costs, if any, you intend to pass on to participants.

- Expressions of interest must be received by December 1, 2025.
