Prohibited Activity - Temporary Fire Ban - effective July 12 at noon until further notice

WHAT: Pursuant to Section 3 (1)(c) of the National Parks of Canada Fire Protection Regulations, the starting and/or maintaining of any open flame fires within Pacific Rim National Park Reserve is prohibited.

EXEMPTIONS: Gas stoves, fire bowls and barbecues that are CSA or ULA rated and have a flame of less than 15cm high.

WHERE: All lands within Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.

WHY: To ensure public safety and the protection of natural resources.

WHEN: From July 12th, 2024 at 1200h, until further notice.

PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25,000.
