Campgrounds in Kootenay National Park

 

WHAT: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the possession and consumption of cannabis and cannabis products during summer long weekends is prohibited by order of the Superintendent.

 

Pursuant to Section 13(b) of the National Parks Camping Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages is hereby prohibited during summer long weekends by order of the Superintendent.

 

WHERE: Marble Canyon, Crooks Meadows, McLeod Meadows and Redstreak.

 

DATES: 

·        Victoria Day long weekend: Friday May 17 – Monday May 20, 2019

·        Canada Day long weekend: Friday June 28 – Monday July 1, 2019

·        Heritage Day/BC Day long weekend: Friday August 2 – Monday August 5, 2019

·        Labour Day long weekend: Friday August 30 – Monday September 2, 2019

 

Policies are in effect from 7 a.m. on the first day until noon on the last day.

 

PENALTY:  Violation of this prohibition may result in immediate cancellation of your camping permit, eviction from the campground, or charges under the Canada National Parks Act; maximum penalty $25 000. Camping fees will not be refunded.
