TEMPORARY FIRE BAN

Issued: June 25, 2021

Ends: October 01, 2021

PURSUANT TO SECTION 3(1) (c) OF THE NATIONAL PARKS FIRE PROTECTION REGULATIONS, THE STARTING OR MAINTAINING OF FIRES IN PRIOR CENTENNIAL CAMPGROUND IS TEMPORARILY PROHIBITED BY ORDER OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF GULF ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK RESERVE.

The prohibition includes campfires, charcoal briquettes, tiki torches, candles and any open flames. Gas or propane stoves and barbeques, that are specifically designed for cooking food, and CSA / ULC certified portable campfire apparatuses with a flame less than 15cm, are the only appliances exempt from the fire ban. This temporary ban has been put in place due to elevated fire danger.  This notice becomes in effect at 12 noon on June 25th, 2021.
