Restricted activity : Non-watercraft aquatic equipment

PURSUANT TO SECTION 7(1) OF THE NATIONAL PARKS GENERAL REGULATIONS, USE OF NON-WATERCRAFT AQUATIC EQUIPMENT* IS RESTRICTED TO HOLDERS OF A VALID NON-WATERCRAFT AQUATIC EQUIPMENT SELF-CERTIFICATION PERMIT, BY ORDER OF THE SUPERINTENDENT.

*Non-watercraft aquatic equipment means: any equipment used in the water including waders, wading boots, fishing gear, diving equipment, snorkeling equipment, personal flotation devices (PFD), research equipment, and any other recreational equipment intended for use in waterbodies.

Self-certification permits can be obtained at the following locations:

- Park Gate
- Visitor Center
- Townsite Campground
- Permit boxes at common waterbody access locations.

This restriction applies to all waters within Waterton Lakes National Park.

This restriction is in place to prevent the introduction and spread of invasive aquatic species.
