Area Closure: Temporary area closure for wildlife in Jasper National Park - Opal Hills hiking area

What:
Pursuant to subsection 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following trail is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent: the Opal Hills hiking area.
Where:
In Jasper National Park, the Opal Hills hiking area.
Why:
Female grizzly bear with two offspring in the area.
Penalty:
Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
