Research as a designated activity

What
Pursuant to section 7.1(2) of the National Parks General Regulations, the Superintendent of Jasper National Park hereby designates all natural, archaeological or social science research as a "designated activity" requiring authorization in the form of a Research Permit.
Note
Research includes all scientific activities pertaining to natural, archaeological or social science studies that involve fieldwork, collection of archaeological and natural objects (or specimens), and/or have the potential to disturb resources, visitors, residents or Parks Canada employees.
Penalty
Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
