RESTRICTED ACTIVITY: Alcohol and cannabis ban in effect for summer long weekends

WHAT: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the possession and consumption of cannabis and cannabis products during summer long weekends is prohibited by order of the Superintendents.
Pursuant to Section 13(b) of the National Parks Camping Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages is hereby prohibited during summer long weekends by order of the Superintendents.
WHERE: Tunnel Mountain Village I, Tunnel Mountain Village II, Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court, Two Jack Main, Two Jack Lakeside, Cascade Overflow, Johnston Canyon, Castle Mountain, Protection Mountain, Lake Louise Trailer, Lake Louise Tent, Lake Louise Overflow, Rampart Creek, Silverhorn, Waterfowl Lakes and Mosquito Creek.
DATES:
· Victoria Day long weekend: Friday May 21 – Monday May 24, 2021
· Canada Day long weekend: Thursday July 1 – Sunday July 4, 2021
· Heritage Day/BC Day long weekend: Friday July 30 – Monday August 2, 2021
· Labour Day long weekend: Friday September 3 – Monday September 6, 2021
Policies are in effect from 7 a.m. on the first day until 11 a.m. on the last day.
PENALTY: Violation of this prohibition may result in immediate cancellation of your camping permit, eviction from the campground, or charges under the Canada National Parks Act; maximum penalty $25 000. Camping fees will not be refunded.
