ANNUAL AREA CLOSURE - A portion of the Fairholme Environmentally Sensitive Site

WHAT:  Pursuant to Section 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following area is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent:

                                                
WHERE: A portion of the Fairholme Range Environmentally Sensitive Site north and west of Johnson Lake and continuing east along the Fairholme Bench to Morrison Coulee. Johnson Lake and all designated trails in the vicinity of Johnson Lake remain open (see accompanying map).

 
WHY: Wildlife activity in this area cannot be disturbed by human presence.

 

PENALTY:  Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
