RESTRICTED ACTIVITY - Motor Vehicle Access

WHAT: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following activity is restricted or prohibited by order of the Superintendent:
Motor Vehicle Access on identified roads.
WHERE: Banff National Park of Canada secondary roads: Bow Valley Parkway (from its east end / junction with Highway 1, up to Johnston Canyon). Johnston Canyon can be accessed by vehicle via Castle Junction.
WHY: Motor Vehicle Access is restricted to public vehicles until August 31, 2021 for the purposes of a reduced-vehicle cycling experience. To maintain certain services in the park vehicle access is not restricted for Parks Canada staff and contractors, emergency services, utility, and railway operators.
PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
