Restricted activity: Dog prohibition

Activity: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following activity is restricted or prohibited by order of the Superintendent:

The walking, exercising or use of dogs is prohibited on the following signed cross-countryski trails when snow covered.

Where:

  • Fairview Loop
  • Moraine Lake Road
  • Tramline Trail
  • Telemark Trail, and
  • Great Divide Route (Old 1A Highway) (except the existing dogsled concessionaire)

 

Why: Dogs are not allowed on these groomed cross country ski trails when covered in snow.

Penalty: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
