Taanishi! Welcome to Batoche! Pack up your red river carts and travel on a journey through time to meet the townsfolk of Batoche and learn about life on the prairies in the 1800s. Explore the village by the winding South Saskatchewan River and hear its stories told by knowledgeable staff in period costume playing the characters who once called this land home. Talk to Métis community members and help them out with chores on the homesaead – but mind you don’t get left cleaning out the “thunder mugs”!

Learn about the peaceful community that was taken by tragedy in 1885 as the site of the final battle of the 1885 Resistance.
