The use of alcohol is prohibited at Obadjiwan–Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site, unless special permission is granted for an event. For more information, visit the following website:

Finally, it is forbidden to vape or smoke tobacco and its by-products inside the buildings of Obadjiwan–Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site, as well as within a 9-metre radius of any doors or windows that open or air intakes communicating with an enclosed area.

Camping in all its forms (including sleeping in a vehicle) is banned on the site and in the parking lot unless special permission is granted for an event.

Commercial activities, special events and non-traditional activities require a permit. Check with Obadjiwan–Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site for more information and/or approval.

For safety reasons, cycling is not permitted within the site of Obadjiwan–Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site.

We invite you to use the bike racks or walk around the site.

The landing, flight and takeoff of unmanned aircraft - also known as drones - are prohibited in Parks Canada historic sites and national parks, unless you obtain authorization from Parks Canada.

Anyone using a drone without park or site approval is subject to enforcement action and a fine of up to $25,000.

To obtain the right to film or shoot for commercial purposes in national parks and historic sites, an application must be submitted to Parks Canada at least twenty working days prior to the activities. If the application is approved, Parks Canada will issue a filming/photography permit with additional conditions and requirements for the production. This information is intended to facilitate the preparation of a filming/photography application.

It is forbidden to set fires or use pyrotechnic devices at Obadjiwan–Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site.

Cooking food with a grill, burner or barbecue is not permitted on the site.

Please dispose of your waste in the garbage cans provided, to keep the National Historic Sites clean and to avoid attracting wildlife.

For safety reasons, fishing and hunting are prohibited at Obadjiwan–Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site.

It is illegal to collect any historical or natural objects on the site, for example artifacts, antiques, artworks, signs, stones, bones, fossils, wood, plants, flowers, mushrooms, berries, animals, animal parts (including plumes), furs or any other such objects.

If you think you've found an important object, leave it where you saw it and report your find to a site employee or contact us.

Parking is restricted to visitors to Obadjiwan–Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site and authorized vehicles.

Please park your vehicle in designated areas where it will not endanger other visitors.

It is also forbidden to use motorized vehicles (scooters, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, etc.) on the site, except for authorized vehicles.

Pets are not allowed inside the buildings of Obadjiwan–Fort Témiscamingue National Historic Site.

Service animals are permitted, as long as they are clearly identified and on a leash or harness.
