Fort Langley National Historic Site

Fort Langley National Historic Site is a mix of beautiful reconstructions and original buildings, plus all kinds of interactive displays and activities. Throughout the site, staff wearing Parks Canada uniforms or period costumes are always nearby to assist you.

Parking

  • Parking is available in the large lot at the end of Mavis Avenue and is managed by EasyPark. You can pay at the onsite pay station or using a variety of mobile parking apps.
  • Parking is free for up to four hours for onsite visitors. To receive free parking, please register your vehicle at the Visitor Centre after purchasing your entry ticket.

Visitor facilities

  • The Visitor Centre provides reception and information services while offering a magnificent view of the Fraser River. It also hosts exhibits and washrooms.

  • Picnic facilities, including both a covered picnic shelter and open picnic areas, are located in the shady, grassy park area around the parking lot.
  • The Ancestor Café
    Led by the talented Chef Sarah Meconse Mierau, a member of the First Nation Sayisi Dene, the Ancestor Café serves nourishing Indigenous dishes made with seasonal, organic ingredients, including favourites like Bannock Tacos, homemade jams, and fresh lemonade.
    Opening Hours: *The café is closed for this winter season 2025 and will reopen in May 2026. Learn more about Ancestor Café at tradishcanada.ca.
  • Spirit Bear Designs Gift Shop
    Located in the Visitor Centre, this Indigenous-owned shop features a beautiful selection of arts and crafts created by local Indigenous artists.  
    Opening Hours: The Gift Shop is currently open Thursday to Sunday from 10 am to 4:30 pm, and during special events. Hours are subject to change.

Access

  • Accessible washrooms are available in the Visitor Centre. There are two accessible picnic tables near the parking lot.
  • A paved pathway connects the buildings on the historic grounds, and benches are located throughout the site where you can relax and enjoy the scenery. Some pathway gradients may be up to 8.5%.
  • A wheelchair (manually operated by a companion) is available on loan from the Visitor Centre. All buildings have access ramps.

Language services

  • All services are available in English and French.
  • Pick up a site orientation map in the Visitor Centre English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, German, Spanish or Korean.

Pets

  • We understand and appreciate that your pet is an important member of your family. Pets are permitted outside the fort walls but must be on a leash at all times. Pets are not permitted inside the historic fort walls, the Visitor Centre or historic buildings.
  • The Township of Langley has several designated Off-Leash Areas. The closest is located in Walnut Grove, on the corner of 213th Street and 96th Avenue. In the City of Langley, use the park at the corner of 206th Street and 44th Avenue.
  • In addition, there are Off-Leash Areas in the following Greater Vancouver Regional District Parks: Derby Reach Regional Park, Campbell Valley Regional Park, and Aldergrove Lake Regional Park. For more information, visit Metro Vancouver Parks.
