Get ready for an unforgettable July 1 as we commemorate the Confederation of Canada!
Join us at Fort Langley National Historic Site for a day brimming with fun and excitement. Enjoy lively jigging and fiddling, Indigenous plant walks, tea and fiber arts demonstrations, ukulele performances, henna tattoos, and fun games! We will be joining the Fort Langley CN Station and the BC Farm Museum for this village-wide community celebration. Best of all, it’s a FREE event for everyone!
Programs:
- Ongoing Throughout the Day
- Ancestor Café
- Blacksmithing demonstrations
- Cooperage demonstrations
- Community group booths: Metro Vancouver Parks, Maple Creek Stream Keepers
- Free parking in the Orchard
- Fiber arts demonstrations by the Langley Weavers and Spinners (until 3pm)
- Free henna tattoos (until 4pm)
- Scavenger hunt
- Timed Activities and Performances
- Citizenship ceremony: 10:30 am
- Indigenous plant walk: 11 am and 1 pm (Karen Gabriel)
- Native plant tea demo: 11:30 am (Deanna Miller)
- Ukelele performance (Diamond Music Makers): 12 pm
- Blackthorn Blossoms Francophone musical performance: 12:30 pm
- The Wild Moccasin Dancers: 1:30 pm
- Jigging performance (V’ni Dansi): 2 pm
- Central Fraser Valley Fiddlers: 3 pm
