Explore BC’s unique ecosystems and meet the people and organizations dedicated to protecting and celebrating our natural world.

What’s happening:
  • Meet a Real Owl: Get up close with a raptor from Orphaned Wildlife (OWL), a dedicated organization caring for these magnificent birds.
  • Discover the World of Beavers: Join a Metro Vancouver Regional Park Interpreter to learn:
    • How beavers shape and create wetlands.
    • Their critical role as keystone species.
    • Ways you can help protect vital wetland habitats.
  • Kids’ Activities: Enjoy a scavenger hunt, try gold panning, or unleash creativity at the colouring station.
  • Learn about Indigenous Plants: Learn about Indigenous plants and traditional medicine with Elder Hazel Gludo.
  • Animal Tracks, Scats & Skulls Presentation: Join Kwantlen First Nation Elder Karen Gabriel to explore how First Nations people used animals for clothing, tools, and more. See real animal scats, vinyl replicas, life-size paws and tracks, and learn how kids identified animal signs for hunting and gathering!
  • Wildlife Photography Tips: Discover the art of wildlife photography with Parks Canada interpreter and amateur photographer Ann Birnie.

Admission is free for visitors aged 17 and under. Don’t miss this exciting day of family-friendly activities and discoveries!
