Bah! Humbug! A Holiday Adventure at Fort Langley
Curious about how the year-end holidays were celebrated at Hudson’s Bay Company posts? It wasn’t much of a party—the workers might get a day off and a “pint of rum,” but that was about it. Now, we’re bringing a new tradition to life: Humbug Holiday! And we need your help to make the fort warm and festive for the season.
At Fort Langley, there’s a humbug Chief Trader roaming the fort, making sure everyone stays busy. We’re counting on you to sneak in a little holiday magic! From December 16 to 30, come to Fort Langley National Historic Site and create your own ornaments. Take one home as a keepsake and leave another behind to secretly decorate the fort. But careful—the grumpy Chief Trader is on the lookout, and if they catch you decorating, you might just get recruited for some extra work!
Bring your creativity, your holiday spirit, and help us transform the fort for the season—if you dare!
