Honoring Indigenous Roots: Stalew’s 10th Anniversary Celebration on June 15.

We are delighted to announce that the Stalew Arts & Cultural Society will be celebrating its 10th anniversary at Fort Langley National Historic Site this year! Everyone is welcome and admission will be free!

Get ready for a day filled with cultural immersion and celebration as we honor Indigenous roots in the week leading up to National Indigenous People’s Day. Experience the heartbeat of our community through mesmerizing powwow drumming, soulful singing, and captivating dancing. Dive into the richness of Indigenous culture with an array of over 40 vendors showcasing their crafts and wares at our Indigenous vendor's market. And don't miss the chance to tantalize your taste buds with delectable Indigenous cuisine for sale by Ancestor’s Café.

Admission is FREE for all on this momentous occasion. Let’s come together to celebrate a decade of community empowerment and cultural heritage.

Programs:

• 10 am to 4 pm: Indigenous vendor market featuring over 40 vendors (Inside the fort and in the Orchard).
• 10:15 am: Red Hawk Singers performance (Upper fort in performance tent)
• 10:30 am: Salish Thunderbird performance (Upper fort in performance tent)
• 11:00 am: Plant walks with Karen Gabriel (Trade Window)
• 11:30 am: Blacksmith demo (Blacksmith Shop)
• 12:00 pm: Storytelling by Fern Gabriel (Center Fire Pit)
• 12:30 pm: Grounding Langley talk (Theatre)
• 1:00 pm: Plant walks with Karen Gabriel (Trade Window)
• 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm: Pow Wow performance by Wild River Singers & Dance Group (Upper Fort on the lawn)
• 2:45 pm: Hat and Boot dance by Wild Moccasin Dancers
• 3:00 pm: Storytelling by Fern Gabriel (Center Fire Pit)
• 4:00 pm: Event and vendor wrap up
