Historic Places Days – from July 11 to 25, 2026

This year, Historic Places Days are taking place from July 11 to 25 – inviting people across Canada to engage with the places, stories, cultures, and histories that shape our country!

This year’s theme, “Communication Through Place and Time,” encourages us to consider how people have shared knowledge, ideas, and traditions across generations, and the vital role historic places have played in enabling those exchanges. From oral histories, craftsmanship, and handwritten correspondence to telegraphs, telephones, and modern digital platforms, historic places reveal how communication is both shaped by and rooted in time.

Parks Canada is proud to continue its collaboration with the National Trust for Canada in support of this nationwide initiative and I encourage you to explore the tools and resources available to support your participation.

The places Parks Canada stewards are central to how we understand ourselves as a country, linking us through powerful stories, diverse experiences, and remarkable landscapes.
