New Federal Funding to Help Jasper Rebuild

Hi everyone,

I am pleased to share that the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Finance and National Revenue, announced last week an additional $520 million in funding to support the rebuild and recovery of Jasper National Park following the devastating 2024 wildfire.

This funding builds on previous Government of Canada investments and will support the work underway to rebuild critical infrastructure including campgrounds, roads, trails and visitor facilities. It will also support continued townsite and perimeter fire risk reduction work, help advance reconstruction efforts; and support continuation of interim housing.

This is an important signal of the Government of Canada’s continued commitment to Jasper’s long-term recovery.

I want to thank the many Parks Canada team members who continue to work with partners and stakeholders to support Jasper’s recovery. Your dedication, expertise, and care continue to make a real difference for the community, for visitors, and for the future of this special place.
