Built heritage

Parks Canada is responsible for thousands of buildings from coast to coast to coast, many of which are historically significant. Heritage buildings and cultural resources require ongoing care and maintenance.

Parks Canada’s Built Heritage team supports this mandate and consists of heritage Architects, advisors, and historic craftspeople who provide conservation services for heritage buildings and cultural resources across Canada.

This work is central to Parks Canada’s efforts to protect and present nationally significant examples of Canada's natural and cultural heritage, and to foster public understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment in ways that ensure their ecological and commemorative integrity for present and future generations.
